John Harbaugh will retain two — and only two — coaches from Brian Daboll’s secure of assistants, including outdoors linebackers coach Charlie Bullen and tight ends coach Tim Kelly to his first Giants workers, The Post has realized.
There is nothing remotely uncommon about this. New head coaches routinely purge the building of the coaches from the earlier regime, preferring to construct their workers with their own hires, either with those they beforehand labored with or hand-picked newcomers.

This means Harbaugh will deliver in his own offensive line coach and that Daboll appointment Carmen Bricillo isn’t anticipated to be back.
Bricillo and assistant offensive line coach James Ferentz helped the Giants put together their best offensive line play in years and the majority of that line — left sort out Andrew Thomas, left guard Jon Runyan Jr. and middle John Michael Schmitz — all are under contract and anticipated to return to the beginning lineup. Bullen was a defensive assistant for the Dolphins for 5 seasons (2012-2016) during a span when Giants normal supervisor Joe Schoen was in scouting for the Dolphins.

Kelly, 39, arrived in 2024 and Kafka promoted him to interim offensive coordinator after Daboll was fired 10 video games into the season. He had beforehand been an offensive coordinator for the Texans and Titans. Retaining Kelly will present continuity for Theo Johnson as he enters his third NFL season.
