PGA Tour secures key sponsorship for event loved | Golf News
Cadillac has inked a multi-year deal to sponsor the PGA Tour’s new Signature Event at Trump National Doral.
The Cadillac Championship, slated for late April, shall be aired on CBS and Paramount+, marking Cadillac’s return to golf sponsorship after a ten-year hiatus. The earlier event bearing the same title was half of the World Golf Championship collection, with its ultimate version in 2016 boasting a complete prize purse of $9.5 million. The 2026 event is rumored to offer a complete prize money of $20 million.
Tour CEO Brian Rolapp expressed his delight at Cadillac’s return, stating: “We are pleased to welcome back Cadillac, a world-class brand whose partnership with the PGA Tour is synonymous with Trump National Doral, a legacy venue on our schedule. We appreciate the support of Cadillac as we bring a new era of the PGA Tour to our fans in Miami.”
In 2010, Cadillac got here on board as an umbrella sponsor of the World Golf Championships collection and later took on the title sponsorship of the WGC-Cadillac Championship, which was also held at Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster course – one of the resort’s 4 championship programs.
John Roth, the global vice president of Cadillac, commented on the partnership, saying: “The Cadillac Championship builds on our legacy with the PGA TOUR while connecting with luxury customers through culturally significant events,”.
“From our presence at Monterey Car Week to Cadillac Racing’s relentless pursuit of victory, we create iconic experiences that celebrate performance, craftsmanship and innovation, elevating the sport, its athletes and our brand.”
The return of Doral to the PGA Tour lineup is made doable by LIV Golf’s absence from the venue in 2026, representing the first time the breakaway collection will not stage an event there since its launch.
Tiger Woods boasts 4 victories at the Blue Monster, as the venue prepares to host its 56th PGA Tour event with the comeback at Trump National Doral.
“For more than half a century, Trump National Doral has been lucky enough to host the PGA TOUR, and the WGC-Cadillac Championship has been a big part of that story,” said Eric Trump, the manager vice president of The Trump Organization.
“We are excited to welcome Cadillac back – an iconic brand and a longtime friend – for the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral, one of the most celebrated golf destinations anywhere in the world.”
Following his 2013 event victory and securing his seventeenth triumph in a World Golf Championships event, Woods highlighted the course’s difficult nature, incomes its Blue Monster nickname from treacherous water hazards.
“I know when I went to the practice tee, there were a couple guys at two or three‐under, and that was it, so I figured it might be a little bit tough,” Woods said. “But obviously seeing what those guys did‐‐ you can see it happening, though. Granted, the golf course is tough, but if you leave the ball in the right spot, you can be aggressive.”
The Cadillac Championship stands as the only recent addition to the PGA Tour’s 2026 regular-season lineup.
