Tributes have been flooding in for Motorhead‘s Phil Campbell following his death aged 64 after a “long and courageous” health battle. His household launched a heartbreaking assertion, which read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Philip Anthony Campbell, who passed away peacefully last night following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation. Phil was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud and loving grandfather, known affectionately as ‘Bampi’. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be missed immensely. His legacy, music and the memories he created with so many will live on forever.
They signed off with: “We kindly ask that our household’s privateness is revered during this extremely tough time.”
His fans have been sharing their condolences on X, formerly known as Twitter, with one writing: “RIP Phil Campbell. Be rocking upstairs with Lemmy! #Motorhead.”
Another added: “Gutted to hear of the passing of Motorhead’s Phil Campbell, who handed away yesterday following a major operation, seen right here with his Clenet Series II a while back. Our ideas exit to his household and pals.”
