Phil Mickelson makes beliefs clear as he slams gas | Golf News

Phil Mickelson has hit out at the price of gas in California, with the six-time major winner taking to social media to voice his frustrations.

While Kai Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, has been making headlines following her LPGA Tour debut, Mickelson has been turning his consideration to issues in California, where he lives. The LIV Golf star took to social media on Wednesday to share a post from California’s GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton, explaining how he would scale back the price of gas in the state if elected.

In a earlier post, Mickelson had reshared a picture of a California gas station where the price of gas had exceeded $5 per gallon in comparability to one in Arizona.

In resharing that post, Mickelson wrote on X: “This is sad and going to get worse.” Then, in response to Hilton’s plans to cut back to price of gas in the state, he added: “Finally someone speaking common sense.”

While many would suppose Mickelson’s main focus could be solely about golf, the 55-year-old doesn’t draw back in speaking about politics on social media, particularly when it comes to criticising California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom.

Earlier this week, it was reported by The Washington Post that Trump officers need to open up the California coast to oil drilling lease gross sales for the first time in many years, in a transfer that has been criticised by Newsom.

On Tuesday, Newsom said the proposal from the Trump administration was “dead on arrival.” He said of the plan: “Over our dead body. Period. Full Stop,” before suggesting the transfer had been performed as a means to rile him up, with Trump prefering to drill of the coast of California instead of Florida.

Meanwhile, Mickelson, who not too long ago explained how he believes the “extreme left and extreme right need to be disregarded” when it comes to political debate, has also outlined he has no intention of getting into politics once his enjoying days are over.

Responding to a post by Bernie Sanders about the American healthcare system, Mickelson wrote: “The extreme left and extreme right need to be disregarded. They are going to vote a certain way and are not open to logic and reason. The middle left and right need to work together and find compromise. No need to even engage the extreme on both sides, it’s a waste of time.”

He was then requested by a consumer if he intends to become involved in politics.

“Are you planning on running for office?” wrote the consumer on X, to which Mickelson replied: “No.”
