TV followers are dashing to watch the ‘funniest show of the year’ after a reviewer claimed to be left ‘in stitches’ by the sequence.

There’s a lot of good tv at the second, from the ‘best film of the decade’ to an unimaginable Western sequence now out there to stream on Netflix.

So we might be shocked to hear if you are struggling to discover one thing to watch these days. But if you are after one thing that’s a little light-hearted and straightforward to watch, particularly after a long day of work, there’s a new sitcom on Sky.

The Paper is an American mockumentary sitcom sequence created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman which is a follow-up and spin-off to the iconic hit show, The Office.

Starring Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, the show premiered on Peacock on September 4, 2025, and now renewed for a second season. Now people are fortunate to give you the chance to stream it on Sky with weekly double-bills on Sky Max.

One reviewer, who goes by the identify Eccy Reviews on TikTok and boasts 350,000 followers, lately mentioned the sequence and labelled it the ‘funniest of the year’.

Discussing in one of his latest videos, he said: “The absolutely hilarious and brand new show The Paper has now been released on Sky and this is easily the funniest show of the year, so let’s talk about it.

“Domhnall Gleeson who I completely love as Ned Sampson is good in this show, every single scene he has me in stitches and I truly could not fault this character.

“But Esmeralda who I wasn’t even sure about ended up stealing the entire series and she was easily my favourite. I love her whole entire rivalry with Ned and I’m interested in what everyone else’s thoughts are on Esmeralda.”

He even went onto inform followers his favorite episode was 5 after the complete Catfish plot with Esmeralda and Ned.

“I was absolutely in stitches in so many scenes during this episode,” he admitted.

“And we can’t forget about the return of Oscar Martinez, it was so funny seeing him again, the whole thing of him not wanting to be in the show is brilliant.”

In case you needed even more convincing, the reviewer added: “But season 1 of The Paper is absolutely brilliant.

“I like every single character, the banter works so effectively I like the little hints and romances and so a lot issues we are able to see blossoming going into season 2.

“But I’m interested, let me know who your favourite character is, your favourite episodes and your entire thoughts.”

His TikTok video garnered a lot of consideration since it was shared with many people dashing to share their opinion too.

One said: “Such a good start to this show!” Another added: “So funny! Agreed.”

According to IMDB, The Paper has a score of 7/10 out of 3,700 votes.

Each episode lasts half-hour long and it focuses on a historic, but declining Midwestern newspaper making an attempt to resurrect itself with volunteer reporters.
