Storage Wars stars Laura and Dan Dotson have opened up about why Darrell Sheets was “terrified for his life” before his tragic passing at 67.
Darrell was reportedly dwelling in concern before his death at his home in Arizona, a state of affairs his household attributed to the relentless cyberbullying he had been enduring. Laura explained, “His family told us that this has been happening for three years. [It happens to] even strong men that you think aren’t gonna get their feelings hurt.
“Cyberbullying is a real factor. This made him really feel less than, and it actually clearly bothered him. He was terrified for his life [and] for the people around him. He did not know why he was being focused.” Darrell was discovered dead at his residence in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on Wednesday, April 22.
A press release issued by the Lake Havasu City Police Department confirmed that he had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His remains were transferred to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for “additional investigation” after he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a conversation with US Weekly, Laura revealed, “He had other issues also,” sharing that “his health and sure issues” could have “contributed” to his death.

She added, “Relationships, love pursuits, and stuff that would go up and down, but [he] actually, actually was a great, loving individual who believed in God.”
Both Laura and Dan recounted losing another friend to suicide, noting that Darrell had been unable to comprehend such tragedy at the time.
Laura recalled, “He says, ‘I can not imagine anyone may do that, they must have so a lot pain.’ So it was so onerous for us to actually imagine that this occurred.”

Just weeks before his death, Darrell had confronted his alleged online tormentors in a Facebook post. Writing in March, he stated, “I’ve been hacked by a very evil individual. The clown.
“[The posts] are not done by me, they are being done by … very evil people. I’m not gay, I have made no posts about any children’s arcade owner, etc. I’m extremely sorry and sick over this.”
He additional disclosed that “people are showing up” at his office intending to “harm” him over content he vehemently denied creating. He continued, “The police are aware of this but [their] hands are tied because Facebook allows this and it is very bad.”
The alleged “cyberbully stalker” who focused Darrell reportedly victimized other local residents close by to his home as nicely.
Darrell maintained, “He has been going after other small businesses in town and harassing them, using my name. It is not me! He has extorted money from many people in this town acting like a handyman. This has been going on with him for three years, and the things he says are very damaging. This is a felony called cyberbullying.”
Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, public info officer for the Lake Havasu City Police Department in Arizona, confirmed to Page Six: “We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”
