TCUs Jacob Fields dismissed for allegedly…

TCU security Jacob Fields, who was dismissed from the workforce Tuesday for a “violation of team rules,” allegedly assaulted a teammate last week, according to The Athletic.

While the sufferer and extra particulars of the alleged assault stay unknown, the incident occurred Aug. 12 in the TCU locker room, and the corresponding report detailed it as “an alleged aggravated assault with hands, feet or fists,” The Athletic reported.

The outlet added that the TCU basic supervisor told campus police Friday — the day the police have been called, according to The Athletic — that the incident occurred the day prior to that on Aug. 13, and it will definitely led to to Fields’ elimination from the Horned Frogs’ roster just days later.

“Like much of what circulates online, a significant portion of what has been shared on social media regarding this situation is false or purely speculative,” Philip Miller, Fields’ agent, wrote in a assertion posted to X. “Jacob Fields and his household haven’t nor could have any additional remark on the state of affairs. Jacob misses TCU, his teammates, coaches and the relationships he constructed there. He was a good pupil, a onerous employee and competitor who constructed many significant friendships during his time at TCU.

“He is grateful for the opportunity the university gave him. While disappointed, Jacob understands that given the circumstances, it was in the best interest of all parties to move forward. He respects the decision and wishes his teammates and the TCU program nothing but success.”

When the initial choice was made Tuesday to dismiss Fields from the workforce, a spokesperson said that he’d been eliminated from the Horned Frogs’ roster and wouldn’t be half of their “football team moving forward,” according to ESPN.

Fields spent the first three seasons of his collegiate profession with Louisiana Tech, finally transferring into a full-time beginning function during the 2024 marketing campaign and changing into Conference USA’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year last season.

He led Louisiana Tech with 92 tackles — the first defensive back to lead this system in that class since 2014, according to ESPN — and returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns in 2025, and Fields then transferred to TCU, where he was seemingly poised to land a beginning function before the incident.

TCU opens its season against Bill Belichick and North Carolina on Aug. 29 in Dublin.
