The Almost-Victims and Why the Left Would Prefer

Let me inform you the true story about a girl whom we’ll call Linda.

Many years in the past, Linda labored in uptown Charlotte. Instead of taking public transportation, which she did not really feel protected on, Linda drove to and from work every day during the time she labored for the uptown business, making sure to park in such a method that would enable her to stroll to her vacation spot with teams of other people who have been headed in the same direction, so she would not have to stroll alone.

One day, some associates of Linda’s who also labored uptown but for a different company a number of blocks away invited her to meet them for lunch. It wasn’t. Soon after Linda boarded the trolley, a group of 4 guys hopped on, too. And they made a beeline for Linda. While three of them sat in close by seats, one of them sat proper next to Linda, eyeing her and her bag. She said he bumped her in the aspect a number of occasions and talked about how “rich” she must be with such a good bag and garments.

There are many more “almost-victims” like Linda whose tales never make it into the crime stats either because a crime wasn’t technically dedicated or, for one purpose or another, they have been too fearful to report it. This is one big purpose why when I hear tales of crime allegedly being “down” in blue cities like Charlotte, I’m not so fast to consider it. I fear about massaged or fudged numbers, and also contemplate the plain presence of concern in communities, the feeling of being unsafe, because of the stuff you’ve heard about on locations like NextDoor or that you have seen with your own eyes with your Ring cameras.
