President Donald Trump was mocked online for his feedback concentrating on the crew of NASA’s Artemis II.
Fox News interrupted its common programming and live-streamed President Trump‘s chat with the Artemis II crew. The president spoke with the staff, which incorporates three Americans and one Canadian. Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch from NASA, and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency appeared to be all smiles during their speak.
Trump, though, admitted he had points with one of the astronauts being Canadian. This comes as Donald Trump was noticed in public after the White House slammed ‘demonic’ health rumors.
“America is a frontier nation,” the president said, refusing to point out Canada on April 6, “The four astronauts of Artemis II are modern pioneers. You really are modern-day pioneers. All of you. And one of you happens to be a neighbor. You know who that is, right? You have a special person there. A neighbor. Ehhh… we like our neighbor.”
Hansen saved a smile on his face while the others turned their heads and appeared in his direction.
Viewers took to social media and slammed the president’s feedback, particularly for downplaying the astronaut’s historic achievement.
One particular person said, “Lots of laughs. He’s such a petty little b—-,” while another added, “All that is good and clean about NASA — and there is a LOT — is now smeared with a little sh– because this a–hole is even speaking to them. I wish he’d just have ignored them. Everything Trump touches dies, at least a little.”
A 3rd wrote, “The most awkward moment in this whole beautiful international story. Trump is turning it into an American success. He’s not even mentioning the major UE (United Empire Loyalist) involvement. Crazy moment!”
Despite the criticism, Trump did have a supporter who shared, “It’s ridiculous that we let a Canadian astronaut on the mission and let them put their flag there like they had anything to do with this. They didn’t pour their tax money into this.”
The group’s dialog with President Trump befell after contact was restored. They had an intense 40 minutes without radio transmission for the first time in 50 years as they reached the far aspect of the moon.
Before re-establishing communications with the mission control staff in Houston, Flover despatched a heartfelt transmission to Earth.
“Thank you to all of you for allowing us to be on this immense journey together,” Flover said. “To all of you down there, we love you from the Moon.”
“Houston copies, we’ll see you on the other side,” a girl at NASA responded, to which Glover replied, “We will see you on the other side.”
