The president continued by claiming he has constructed a better relationship with Iran than earlier administrations. He also promised to get American troops to Iran to purchase nuclear mud to “downblend and destroy it” once the struggle is over an “when all is calm.”

Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei also announced on Friday that the text of a deal with the U.S. is “mostly finalized.”

On Thursday, following a slew of strikes the evening before, Trump assured reporters that negotiations have been nearing the end. “We will have a signing soon,” he said.
