Trump gets angry and snaps give me a break on | TV Shows
During a heated live interview on Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump lashed out at a CNBC host while defending a series of contentious decisions from the White House, including the unexpected dismissal of the Bureau of Labor Statistics chief, which he savagely explained with seven words.
As he appeared via phone on Squawk Box, Trump became increasingly irate as co-host Joe Kernen questioned him about his economic policies and escalating tensions within his administration.
And while the news of his firing the Bureau of Labor Statistics chief was breaking news after he did it, it appears Trump is no longer wanting to talk about his rash decisions.
Seven months into his second term, the President didn’t mince words when characterizing key members of his own economic team as “highly political,” including Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, whom he appointed in 2018.
Despite personally selecting him for the position, Trump once again criticized Powell for not cutting interest rates quickly enough, dubbing him “Too Late.”
However, President Trump retorted with force, replying, “Give me a break.”
He continued to argue his point, stating, “It’s a highly political situation, it’s totally rigged. Smart people know it. People with common sense know it,” standing by his assertions.
During their intense discussion, Kernen pointed out to the audience that the Bureau of Labor Statistics regularly updates job figures to enhance precision, highlighting that there has been no evidence suggesting McEntarfer altered any information.
Although members of Trump’s team have supported his decision to dismiss McEntarfer, none have publicly supported his accusations of intentional data manipulation.
