President Donald Trump hasn’t rushed to congratulate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on their big proposal news.
On Tuesday, the world was shaken by the announcement that the Love Story singer and Kansas City Chiefs footballer are engaged.
The couple announced the news in a shared social media post with a sequence of pictures from the lavish proposal, which was captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Just a couple of weeks in the past, Trump nastily insulted Taylor on his Truth Social platform amid the Sydney Sweeney denims scandal.
The president confirmed his assist for the Euphoria actress, who has been caught up in a firestorm of hate over her latest American Eagle marketing campaign. While the 79-year-old politician sang his praises for the “registered Republican,” he went on to condemn chart-topping pop star Taylor Swift.
In the weird post discussing Sydney’s controversial commercial, Trump wrote: “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ’em, Sydney! On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER!”
He continued: “The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad. Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company.”
Trump went on to add: “The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST.”
The president then drug Taylor into the controversy, as he branded her no longer scorching due to her “woke” beliefs. Taylor beforehand publicly endorsed Trump’s opponent Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump wrote: “Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.”
He concluded the post, “The tide has seriously turned – Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Trump’s remarks come after the president sang the praises of Sydney’s controversial commercial selling American Eagle’s new line of denims. The Hollywood star was met with backlash over the industrial, which some felt contained offensive racial and genetic undertones and eugenics-era language.
When boarding Air Force One this week, after Trump found Sydney was a Republican and told reporters, “Oh, now I love her ad. You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans.”
He added: “That’s one I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”
