President Donald Trump reportedly hopped on an emergency call with the leaders of France, U.Okay., and Germany in regard to the state of affairs in Ukraine.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer spoke with the other heads of state, declaring that they have been at a “critical moment,” according to a spokesperson for Downing Street. “The Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz today,” they said.
“The leaders discussed the latest on the ongoing US-led peace talks, welcoming their efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine, and to see an end to the killing,” the assertion continued. “Intensive work on the peace plan is constant and will continue in the approaching days.“
“They agreed that this was a critical moment – for Ukraine, its people and for shared security across the Euro-Atlantic region,” the assertion completed. Sources reported that the chief mentioned the likelihood of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Politico Europe, all three leaders agreed that “this is a decisive moment for Ukraine & for collective security in the Euro-Atlantic area.”
A New Deadline
The call comes a mere day after Trump issued a new deadline for President Volodymyr Zelensky to signal the U.S.-backed peace deal with Russia. According to Trump, his Ukrainian counterpart has until Christmas Day to signal the settlement.
Despite the growing stress from Trump, Zelensky posted on social media Tuesday night, insisting he was working “very actively” with European companions to develop a proposal for ending the conflict. His Ukrainian counterpart was not the only ine to be lambasted by the American chief.
