President Donald Trump taunted Rep. Thomas Massie on Monday in a disparaging video posted on Truth Social, threatening that the “worst Republican’s” profession is over.

Massie of Kentucky, an outspoken Trump critic, will face off against Ed Gallrein, a Republican major rival in the 4th Congressional District of Kentucky, on Tuesday. Gallrein has the backing of President Trump and has gained traction among the GOP, making this week’s race a close one. Trump delivered an endearing endorsement for Gallrein while viciously dragging Massie in a video posted on Truth Social, citing the latter’s “disloyalty.”

Gallrein “is running against the worst congressman in my opinion. The worst Republican congressman in the history of our country. Thomas Massie, he’s the worst.”

Despite being one of the most conservative members of Congress, Massie has disagreed with President Trump about overseas coverage and the means the Department of Justice dealt with the Epstein information.

In the past, Trump’s endorsements have had a big influence on Republican primaries, particularly among the conservative grassroots of the celebration.

Over the weekend, the GOP major entered its closing stretch as Massie and Gallrein tried to mobilize their base of supporters to solid ballots. According to current surveys, the race is seen as aggressive.

Massie had a lead in an earlier Quantus Insights, but there have been more voters who had been not sure. Massie acquired 47% of the vote, in contrast to Gallrein’s 38%, while 14% expressed no opinion.

It had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 proportion factors and polled 438 potential Republican major voters on April 6-7.

Massie was up by over 5 factors, according to a Big Data Poll survey. Of those surveyed, 52.4% supported Massie and 47.6% indicated they might vote for Gallrein. With a sampling error of plus or minus 4 proportion factors, it polled 433 registered probably voters from April 3–7.

In prediction markets, Massie is most well-liked. His probabilities of defeating Gallrein in the major are 64 % on Kalshi and 65 % on Polymarket.
