TV host slams Elon Musk and Donald Trump acting | TV Shows
A TV broadcaster has slammed Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s public squabble as being that of a ‘7th-grade girl’ feud.
Today show host Savannah Guthrie took a swipe at the ongoing bickering between President Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, criticizing their spat over social media, including Musk’s most recent jab at Trump allegedly being in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Guthrie addressed the matter on NBC, commenting: “First of all, to just use TikTok language, it’s giving a 7th-grade girl. This back and forth, online, and from the Oval Office.”
Her co-hosts couldn’t contain their amusement at her comments, while “Meet the Press” anchor Kristen Welker agreed with her statement, saying, “Savannah, you hit the nail on the head.”
Guthrie’s remarks follow a conversation between Trump and “Good Morning America” presenter and political reporter Jonathan Karl, where Trump expressed he has no plans to make amends with Musk.
After speaking with Karl over the phone, he reported that Trump had dismissed any notion of mending their relationship, essentially declaring he’s “not particularly interested” in patching things up. Karl relayed on air: “Elon wants to talk to him, he’s not ready to talk to Musk.”
“And so I think this breakup, we’ve been seeing a long time coming. But we’ll see what the impacts are of it legislatively.”
After resigning from his role within Trump’s administration and his position at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) at the end of May, Musk has since been openly criticizing his once ally, Trump. He’s taken to his own platform X to call out Trump on recent legislative decisions and suggested that Trump is associated with the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Musk couldn’t hold back recently as he posted on X: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
In a retort during a press conference, Trump broke his silence about their strained relationship. The US president claimed: “Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anyone sitting here.
“He had no problem with it. All of a sudden he had a problem, and he only developed the problem when he found out that we’re going to have to cut the [electric vehicle] mandate, because that’s billions and billions of dollars.”
He concluded: “Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore.”
