President Donald Trump announced that U.S. military ships and plane are at the moment en route to Iran on Thursday.
Trump confirmed to reporters aboard Air Force One that there’s an “armada” of ships and floatillas heading toward Iran. An audio clip of the casual press assembly aboard was shared on X by Jason Brodsky, the coverage director of United Against Nuclear Iran, a U.S.-based, bipartisan non-profit coverage group.
“We have a lot of ships on their manner to Iran,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Thursday. “We’ll see what happens. We have a big force on its way over there. I’d rather not see anything happen, but we’re watching them very closely.”
The development comes after Trump expressed help for anti-government protestors in Iran, which broke out last month.
Iranian state media studies that more than 3,000 have been killed amid a authorities crackdown on dissent, though there are major discrepancies on the death toll from numerous organizations.

U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency most lately estimated that 4,519 had been killed amid the wave of demonstrations, including 4,251 protesters, 197 security personnel, 35 people aged under 18 and 38 bystanders, while noting that some 9,049 extra deaths are still under review. Thousands more have also been arrested.
During the press gaggle, Trump claimed that he stopped tons of of hangings, which he slammed as a barbaric act. He claims he threatened Iranian management with retaliation if they proceeded with the executions.
“It’ll make what we did to your nuclear sites look like peanuts,” Trump claims he told Iran. “They cancelled [the executions]. They didn’t postpone it, which is a good sign.”
He went on to decline to remark on whether or not he desires the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini to step down.
“They know what we want. There’s a lot of killing going on,” Trump said. “We talk to them a lot. They should have made a deal when we hit them with the nuclear because that was a devastating hit.”
A few days prior, Trump insinuated that he desires regime change in Iran and blamed the nation’s chief for the civil unrest.
“It’s time to look for new leadership in Iran,” Trump told Politico. “[Khameini] is a sick man who should run his country properly and stop killing people. Leadership is about respect, not fear and death.”
In response to Trump’s remarks, a senior Iranian military official threatened retaliation against the U.S., according to Iranian state media, per Iran International.
A senior Iranian military official warned of extreme retaliation against the United States after President Donald Trump called Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei a “sick man” and said it was time for new management in Tehran, state media reported.
“We do not take Trump’s noise very seriously,” Iranian Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said at a public event. “Trump knows that if a hand is stretched toward our leader, we will not only cut that hand off—we will set their world on fire. This is not a slogan.”
It comes after Trump said he would “wipe [Iran] off the face of this Earth” in response to allegations about threats on his life.
“I’ve left notification, if anything ever happens… the whole country’s going to get blown up,” Trump said. “I would absolutely hit them so hard. I have very firm instructions, anything happens, they’re going to wipe them off the face of this Earth.”
The protests broke out in late December when shopkeepers started demonstrating against the sliding worth of currency and the associated fee of dwelling, which advanced into wider anti-government protests.
