Antiques Roadshow guest stunned at painting value | TV Shows

A previous episode saw a woman bring in a piece titled Fertility, which depicted a barn and a house standing behind a field of crops.

The expert at the time said, “I believe one of his more popular lithographs because the scenery resembles American Gothic.”

He then noted that there were some mat stains under the lithograph inside the frame, but stressed that it wouls not deteriorate the value of the item too much.

He then gave his valuation stating that a fair insurance value on it would be in the range of $10,000 to $12,000.

The shocked guest then admitted, “Oh my. I’m very surprised.”

Wood’s greatest and most popular work is American Gothic, which came out in 1930 and has become an iconic part of American art history easily recognisable globally to this day.
