In response to the tragic news, Jimmy Kimmel took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message, urging his followers to react thoughtfully.

Kimmel penned, “Instead of the indignant finger-pointing, can we just for sooner or later agree that it’s horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my household, we ship love to the Kirks and to all the kids, dad and mom, and innocents who fall sufferer to mindless gun violence.”

Stephen Colbert also addressed Kirk’s death on The Late Show earlier this week.
