Corey Feldman has spoken out following his  Dancing With the Stars elimination to reveal he’s “devastated” by reviews he was in a feud with his associate Jenna Johnson, but the pair’s alleged drama paled in comparability to other battles behind-the-scenes of the ABC show.

The show’s high-stakes competitors and performative nature can lead to explosive chemistry among pairings of celebrities and professional dancers, but not always in a means that aids the connection–or performances.

And while some might choose up on alerts of hassle forward for some Season 34 pairs, including Hilaria Baldwin, who was called out for utilizing a “fake” accent, others have already had their major implosions happen on the set.

Several professionals and celebrities have come ahead over the years to share their tales of less than perfect partnerships–and some even carried out on-screen.

Cheryl Burke and Ian Ziering (Season 4)

No one knew it at the time, but Cheryl and and the Beverly Hills, 90210 star weren’t getting along during the show’s fourth season–despite their fourth place end. Cherly later shared on the Allegedly podcast years later that that they had points with how he pronounced his title–one thing she said made her need to not only “throw up” and also “slit her wrists.”

“My least favorite [partner] would be Ian Ziering,” she said. “The faxt that his name is not EE-AN and t’s EYE-AN makes me want to throw up.”

“It made me want to slit my wrists. I was, like, crying to executives. I was like, is there any way to please to just just eliminate us? They’re like, we can’t. We can’t do that and I swear, every time I asked, we just kept going. We would last till the end.”

Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani (Season 10)

Tony Dovolani had a rep during his time on the show for being nearly unflappable, but he met his tipping level when partnered with the Kate Plus 8 star.

The two famously had a major struggle during a rehearsal where Dovolani went on to stroll out and say he was quitting the show.

“I’m done, I’m done today. I quit,” he said at the time.

Maks Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley (Season 12)

Though they initially acquired along properly, issues took a flip for the more severe for Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy after she told him she practiced Scientology, one thing he recalled later brought about rigidity.

“She stopped getting along with me,” he said on Watch What Happens Live in 2014. “We had a great relationship…But I got a message now that I am associating with other people that she can’t be associated with, I am no longer to be spoken with, and sorry, but it is what it is…I think the world of her.”

Alley, who died in 2022, later fired back, saying he had “a-s r—d” her with the feedback.

Maks Chmerkovskiy and Hope Solo

Maks was identified for butting heads with his companions over the years, but none more infamously than Hope Solo, with most of their drama taking part in out after the show, when the soccer participant claimed he hit her across the face during a rehearsal.

He denied the accusations repeatedly, and addressed them in 2015 on the Allegedly podcast, saying she was a s–y individual.

“People can be bad or good or whatever. You can have a s–y life growing up,” he said at the time. “You can have a tough upbringing. You can have history, You can have whatever. But, if you are just a bad person, you know what I mean? There’s no excuse for that.”

Mischa Barton and Artem Chigvintsev (Season 22)

O’C’ star Mischa Barton and Artem Chigvintsev allegedly locked horns over points with costuming on the show, one thing she said she had been told she’d have artistic control over, but wasn’t given.

“I had no idea it would be so bad, I got told off by my dancer,” she told The Ringer in 2016. “I was supposed to control the costumes, I was told that I could do the design aspect of it, that’s kind of the reason why I agreed to do it. That didn’t happen.”

“It wasn’t collaborative like a choreographer on a film set. I was so confused by it. It was like ‘The Hunger Games.’ it was all a popularity contest. It was awful. I was so glad to get kicked off.”

Maks Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey (Season 25)

Maks’ last look as a professional on the show was another marked by controversy over the connection with his associate, Vanessa Lachey, after the show paired them up against their respective spouses, Nick Lachey and Peta Murgatroyd.

However, tensions erupted backstage, main to Chmerkovskiy skipping an episode. At the time, it was reported they have been “playing nice” for the cameras but have been both “miserable” being paired with one another.

Afterhe returned to carry out again, it was said that the stress was now “water under the bridge,” and “Maks has apologized to her and they both look forward to having a much more positive relationship moving forward.”
