DWTS’ Jen Affleck praised for ‘realness’ after | TV Shows
Jen Affleck has been open about being “scared and vulnerable” on Dancing With the Stars, and now, followers are praising her for her “realness” after a social media clip where she confirmed herself struggling during a rehearsal.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, who is partnered with new professional Jan Ravnik, has been regularly posting on TikTok and other platforms as she prepares for her dances each week on the ABC show.
However, while excited about issues like her companion making a cameo in Taylor Swift’s latest music video, she has also shared glimpses at tough moments.
This included in a current rehearsal, where she shared a clip displaying herself crying in the studio, as Jan laid on the ground close by.
While robust to watch, it was also one thing many followers later praised.
In the clip, which she captioned “my therapist,” she sits against the mirror with tears streaming down her face as Jan talks about their weekly routines.
“On Friday, I’m like, ‘Okay, okay maybe your start getting to know,” he says. “On Saturday, we are already kind of happy and then end up rehearsing and getting dressed. Sunday, we are happy. Monday, breakdown!”
Jen then chimes in, revealing she’s having a exhausting time and this was how her companion was making her really feel better.
“I’m mentally struggling,” she said. “And this is how he’s making me feel better. He’s saying, ‘Yeah, you suck today, but like, it’s Thursday!’”
“I feel like we need to see them struggle on camera and then see the dance,” a third added. “I kinda miss seeing not the fights necessarily but see the toll it takes on the pros and celebs.”
Others praised Jen for being trustworthy about the breakdown and struggles, which also come postpartum, after she gave beginning to her third baby on July 2–just over two months before showing on the show.
“I can’t even imagine trying to do all this postpartum. She has all my love and respect. Take good care of her Jan!” one individual said.
Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+.
