I’m being snarky, of course, because nothing you are about to read will shock you — given the current state of leftist looniness in Oregon, which is past disgusting.

Let’s first go bottom-line, then proceed to backhoe and fill.

Oregon’s far-left Democrat authorities plans to spend more on free health care for unlawful aliens than it would allocate to your entire state police power in its current finances cycle, state paperwork show. 

Between 2025 and 2027, officers anticipate roughly $1.5 billion in mixed state and federal tax {dollars} to fund health coverage for “undocumented immigrants” (unlawful aliens) while just $717 million is slated for the Oregon State Police over the same period.

The state’s health company, the Oregon Health Authority, expects to allocate $1.2 billion to this system — initially named “Cover All People” and now called the “Healthier Oregon Program” (HOP), according to an electronic mail it despatched to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Translation: Far-left Democrats in energy in Salem — the state’s capital — imagine it is twice as important to present “free” (taxpayer-funded) healthcare to people who entered this nation illegally, and now refuse to depart, than on state-level safety of law-abiding Oregonians.

Shocked? Me, neither.

According to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), famous the Daily Caller, federal funding for illegals in the state is proscribed to emergency and pregnancy-related care, as mandated by U.S. law. However, OHA finances paperwork reveal that the state secures unrestricted federal {dollars}—free from federal prohibitions on aiding undocumented immigrants—through intelligent accounting maneuvers.

Again, attempt to control your shock and amazement.

Oregon bolsters its pool of state Medicaid funds, which operate without federal restrictions on distribution to illegals, by imposing what it calls a “tax” on hospitals (gaming the system), which capabilities more as an accounting workaround. The state collects this “tax” from hospitals and then leverages federal matching funds to reimburse the hospitals in full for the quantities levied.

Shady? 

Incidentally, unlawful aliens in Oregon will not be required to present proof of long-term residency in the state in order to obtain the taxpayer-funded healthcare advantages, according to state assets.
