A November 3 assertion to devastated followers revealed that Todd’s High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 tour dates had been being scrapped, explaining: “Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained serious injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel.

“Todd might be unable to carry out for an undetermined quantity of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes. We respect your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment,” reports the Daily Record.

Sources suggest he sought medical care following the alleged attack but refused to leave the facility after being discharged, The Mirror reports. In the police bodycam footage, an officer can be heard questioning him: “When they told you do not come back, why did you come back?”

The troubled musician claimed he couldn’t recall that warning, explaining: “I walked as far as I might and I used to be in so a lot pain and I got here back.”

Later, he pleaded with one of the officers: “Can I please go back to the hospital? Sir, I’m sick. Please let me go back, give me one more likelihood.”

A statement issued by his loved ones and relatives before his passing revealed he was battling an undiagnosed case of ‘walking pneumonia” and that his health had “become more complicated”.” Subsequently, a tribute posted on his Instagram account read: “Where do we discover the phrases for the one who always had the precise phrases, who knew how to distill all the things down to its essence with phrases and tune while delivering the most devastating, hilarious, and impactful flip of phrases?”

The musician’s sound blended alt-country, people, rock, blues, and funk across 14 studio albums. His catalog featured well-liked tracks like Alright Guy and Talking Reality Television Blues, which Tom Jones later coated.

The Portland native earned recognition in the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2021.
