Carole Malone loses it as tense migrant row erupts on | UK News
Carole Malone entered a frosty exchange with a fellow visitor on The Jeremy Vine Show relating to the subject of unlawful immigration. The English presenter initially responded to James, who said British notions of equity are being exploited by unlawful immigration. The debate was surrounding the query of whether or not it is fallacious to deport the kids of asylum seekers who have entered the UK illegally. Members of the public have been then invited to cellphone into the show, and James from Caerphilly said: “We simply must make a stand. We must call it today and say no – end of. We are subject to foreign laws. It’s time we acted in unity. It’s not un-British. We must say no.”
Carole then added in response to James: “The hospitality has been abused in this country. We had an amazing reputation for compassion towards people fleeing war-torn countries. People are tired of it, and people are angry. The majority are not fleeing war-torn countries now.”
Fellow visitor Marvyn Harrison disagreed with Carole’s phrases and said: “It’s been a net profit. Migration has been a net profit to this country.” Carole then furiously shot back: “That is simply not true! That is simply not true!”
She added: “I don’t care – there was a report recently that said that they cost us more than ever did.” Marvyn said: “Which report? We can also improve the process and reduce the time. People getting iPads and mobile phones – that’s been dramatised. Charities that choose to donate these things to migrants are at their discretion. That’s a part of the hospitality.”
Responding to the controversy, one individual said on X: “Previous governments have made a mess and not controlled our borders allowed our population to grow at a rate that’s unsustainable because they have not invested in infrastructure. Now we can’t get control of anything. Things are beyond repair and the flood gates are open.”
Elsewhere on the show, Marvyn said Labour are appeasing a vocal minority by implementing the ‘darkest’ insurance policies in British historical past to sort out unlawful immigration.
Marvyn, who is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion advisor, argued: “I don’t recognise my country anymore.”
The Jeremy Vine Show airs daily on Channel 5 at 9:15am.
