Holiday followers can get labored up if you mess with their Christmas motion pictures — and it appears Amazon Prime made that deadly step.

The streamer appeared to make a change to It’s a Wondeful Life when they stripped the “Pottersville scene” out of the movie. The 1964 basic facilities around when “an angel is distributed from Heaven to help a desperately annoyed businessman see the worth of his own life,” according to IMDb.

Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed, and Lionel Barrymore, the movie became a quick favorite among Christmas fanatics. They loved the moment where George makes a terrible wish that he was never born, and he sees what the world is like without him there.

Emotion builds up as a guardian angel walks him through the alternate town, showing a dark life. Eventually, this helps George realize life is truly worth leaving, and fans think the scene is absolutely critical.

Without it, they argue, the themes of the movie are a bit lost as there isn’t as high of an emotional stake or buy in from viewers.

The drama has a 94% Tomtatoscore on Rotten Tomaotes. Plus, it has a 95% Popcornmeter rating.

In 2025, fans are still coming to love the movie. Despite the Amazon issues, other viewers are living for the magic.
