OpenAI said it might start exhibiting ads in ChatGPT to some US customers, ramping up efforts to generate revenue from the AI chatbot to fund the high prices of developing the technology.
The ads can be examined with customers on the company’s free tier and the lower-priced Go plan that it’s now increasing globally, OpenAI said on Friday. They will show up in the approaching weeks and can be separate from the solutions generated by ChatGPT.
Users on the more costly Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise tiers is not going to have ads. OpenAI also said that promoting wouldn’t affect ChatGPT’s outputs and that consumer conversations wouldn’t be shared with entrepreneurs.

OpenAI said it might not show ads to customers under 18. The company also plans to block ads from showing in relation to delicate topics, such as health and politics.
“We plan to test ads at the bottom of answers in ChatGPT when there’s a relevant sponsored product or service based on your current conversation,” the startup said in a assertion.
The ChatGPT Go offering, first launched in India, can be accessible in the US for $8 per month, the Microsoft-backed company said.
