Law Enforcement, First Responders Accomplish the | Political News
In my wayback single years, I used to be on my method home from work, when I ran over a mattress in the fast lane of the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles. I used to be going 80 miles an hour, so the mattress immediately wedged beneath my car. With vehicles whipping past me, I desperately tried to get over to the shoulder. I made it over, and was about to call AAA, because, frankly, I had no thought what else to do.
Before I may press the velocity dial, a California Highway Patrol officer immediately appeared and demanded to have my keys. Flustered and shocked by his presence, I handed them over. He labored the mattress out from under my car, and moved it over into the shoulder. He obtained under the car to try the wheels, and then got here back to me and handed me my keys.
The officer said, “I had to get it out quickly, otherwise, the mattress would have caught fire.” He really helpful I get my car checked out by a mechanic, then requested if I used to be okay. Still bemused, I said I used to be tremendous, and thanked him for his help. He said you are welcome, obtained back in his cruiser, leaving as rapidly and quietly as he got here.
The CHP officer’s watchful awareness and fast motion saved my car, and probably my life. It is conditions like these, where fast motion and decision-making are required, where law enforcement often shine and are at their best. Which is why it boggles my thoughts that Democrats and the left regularly work to defund, demonize, and goal law enforcement who do their jobs and fulfill their calling.
That wants to change.
Hero law enforcement is the subject of this week’s Feel-Good Friday.
Speaking of California, on February 20, a fire broke out in an condo building in Milpitas, a metropolis in the San Francisco Bay space. Several of the residents, including one household with a toddler and a canine, had been confined to their balconies on the second story of the building, attempting to escape the rapidly transferring flames.
The Milpitas Police Department shared the 911 call, and the unbelievable motion by two of their officers, on their Facebook web page.
LISTEN/WATCH:
Last Saturday at about 3:13 PM, our Dispatch Center obtained a call from residents trapped inside a burning condo close to the 550 block of S. Park Victoria Drive. Flames had been spreading rapidly through the building, and the callers had been sheltering on a second-story patio, asking for help.
Dispatchers immediately coordinated police and fire response. In less than two minutes, Officer Barragan and Officer Hartley arrived to discover the condo absolutely engulfed, with smoke and flames pushing outward as the household waited above.
With the fire intensifying, the officers rapidly assessed the state of affairs and started speaking with the household on the patio. Working together, they guided the dad and mom through the unimaginable, safely dropping their 3-year-old little one down to ready officers below. Moments later, the household canine was also dropped safely.
Then they helped the relaxation of the members of the family make their method down the ladder. That must have been extremely scary for this household, but they trusted that Officers Barragan and Hartley would do their utmost to guarantee their little one and their canine had been protected. Moments after the dramatic rescue, the Milpitas Fire Department arrived on the scene and firefighters ably assisted the other residents off their balconies and away from the building.
Not one life was misplaced. That’s a big win.
We are extremely grateful for the calm and braveness shown by the residents during such a terrifying second, and for the seamless teamwork between our dispatchers, officers, and fire personnel. We are grateful to report that no one was severely injured.

I wrote another article this week (linked above) about off-duty ICE brokers in Minnesota who saved a four-year-old’s life, after the distraught mom requested them for help. With the horrible method that these brokers and other law enforcement have been handled, they may have simply called it in and left it to the local LEOs. Instead, they sprung into motion, administering CPR to the little one and calming the chaos at the scene.
When law enforcement is allowed to do the job of response, safety, and peace preserving, lives are saved and communities are bettered. There are most likely a thousand more tales like these across our great nation. I’m grateful for the work law enforcement does on a regular basis, and pray we get back to a place where trust and respect is restored; because these heroes deserve it.
