Jordan Spieth, presently vying for first place at the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, disclosed the least fascinating sort of golfer to be paired with during the match.

“Yea. Pairings matter some. I mean, if you’re in a comfortable pairing… they both putt it very well,” Spieth commented, referring to his pre-weekend group that included Rickie Fowler and Sahith Theegala.

“It’s nice to be in a group with really good putters. The hole starts to look bigger and you can start pouring it in. Guys that are kinda quick and light… yea its a good pairing. I mean I’ve played 1000 rounds with Rickie so..”

Spieth and Fowler have loved a long-standing friendship. Alongside Justin Thomas, they turned Snapchat savants, entertaining followers with temporary social media clips that have since gone viral as people mirror on the trio’s rise to prominence.

“What’s a nightmare scenario?” Adams inquired. “Normally it’s a Pro-Am,” Spieth responded. “When somebody is trying to explain why they’re not playing better to you as if we really care how the person we’re playing with in a Pro-Am is gonna play.

“They’re like, ‘Oh I shot 73 yesterday out right here’ and I’ve performed with people worse, I’ve performed with people better, lets just have enjoyable.”

“In a match like this what sort of golfer can be the worst sort of pairing?” Adams asked. “Slow or just tremendous unfavourable,” said Spieth. “Like outwardly unfavourable. Like we have all been there. It occurs, everybody wakes up on the flawed facet of the mattress. I’ve been there, I’ve achieved it.

“It’s a tough pairing if they’re outwardly negative. It’s just a little harder to stay in your own lane. Because it’s quiet, it’s not like someone’s screaming, yelling on a basketball court.”

The three-time major champion seems to have discovered his rhythm in this week’s grouping, revealing that “everything” is working properly for him at current.

“I’m doing everything well,” Spieth said. “The stats aren’t necessarily showing exactly how solid things are. I feel like I’ve hit a lot of especially approach shots the last two weeks where I’m posing, saying, man, I did my job, and then I’m just shocked at where they end up, short or long or whatever. I think that’s pretty normal for last week and this week.

“But it has been better than my scoring. I toed a drive on 18 yesterday and then on one of the best holes I made a 7 today, and it is just a bit of a bummer to end that means, proper. They do not inform the story of how I’m actually enjoying; they have been just two swings that I just needed to miss on the other facet.”
