Linda then desperately implored her son to drop the story, pleading: “Please don’t tell everyone.” Yet Rylan was not to be deterred, firing back: “I think you’re under the impression they just dish them out on the street.” He could not resist rounding off the story with a well-timed quip, teasing that Linda is “letting this Radio 2 and Gogglebox thing go to your head”.
Rylan first burst onto the scene on the X Factor in 2012, ending in fifth place before going on to seem in a string of widespread tv programmes, including Celebrity Big Brother, which he received the next yr.
