Charlie Woods could caddie at U.S. Open after…

Charlie Woods could be headed to the U.S. Open — just not as a participant.

Miles Russell, a 17-year-old novice and close good friend of Woods, earned a spot in the 126th U.S. Open on Monday after surviving a playoff at the Florida qualifier with Tiger Woods’ son serving as his caddie.

Now the query is whether or not Charlie might be alongside him again at Shinnecock Hills next week.

Asked if Woods could be on the bag for the major, Russell smiled and said, according to ESPN: “To be determined.”

Russell, the No. 10 novice in the world, grabbed the fourth and ultimate spot from the 36-hole qualifier despite making bogey on the first playoff gap.

He said having a good friend caddying for him helped keep the temper relaxed during a high-pressure day, with Woods serving to him keep away from getting too caught up in golf discuss.

The pairing provides further intrigue to Russell’s U.S. Open breakthrough, with Woods already drawing consideration because of his father’s legacy.

The youngsters are close pals, share the same industrial agent and are both verbally dedicated to play for Florida State.

Russell was one of two 17-year-olds to qualify Monday, with Giuseppe Puebla also making it through from the Florida website.

Billy Horschel also booked his place in the U.S. Open, qualifying from the Ohio-Springfield website during what ESPN described as a tough season.

Tony Finau missed out by two pictures at the same website and is not going to be at the U.S. Open for the first time since 2017.

For now, Russell has his U.S. Open spot. Whether Tiger Woods’ son is on the bag with him at Shinnecock stays to be seen.
