A popular Netflix series featuring Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger has been abruptly canceled by the streaming giant.

The action-comedy called Fubar marked the movie star’s debut venture into television programming.

Season one of Fubar attracted 11 million viewers during its opening weekend in May 2023.

However, the second season managed to pull in only 2.2 million viewers, which Deadline reports as the likely cause behind its cancellation.

When promoting the series, Arnold – affectionately known as Arnie to his supporters – revealed his latest endeavor in 2021.

Arnold portrays CIA operative Luke Brunner while Monica Barbaro takes on the role of his daughter.

The program follows the duo as they tackle their “high-stakes missions” while navigating their “awkward family dynamics.”

Before the second season premiered, supporters voiced worries about the show’s lackluster comeback.

One viewer posted on X: “Season 2 of FUBAR was full of action and found family but felt underwhelming in prioritising messy love triangles over character growth.”

One disgruntled viewer stated, “[Netflix] keeps increasing prices and refusing to give shows that people love a last season. I am going to FINALLY cancel Netflix if Fubar doesn’t get a third season.”

A Rotten Tomatoes user wrote: “The first season wasn’t this bad. The acting is horrible, the direction is awful, the story is ridiculous, and the dialogue dreadful. “.

They went on to say: “The premise is stupid,d and then it went downhill from there. There were times I literally cringed.”

However, not all comments were negative. One person described the show as “quirky but brilliant” and called it “terrific fun.”

Another fan chimed in: “I just finished Fubar S2. This show is just great. It’s a bit slapstick, but clever and fun. Standout performances from absolutely every cast member. My favorite was Andy Buckley; he was hilarious. “

They concluded: “Hope of hopes there’s an S3. Schwarzenegger, more please!”.
