Bills dig in on Darius Slay after retirement…
The Bills aren’t backing down.
After refusing to show up and later threatening retirement, Darius Slay was positioned on the reserve/didn’t report checklist by Buffalo, who claimed the six-time Pro Bowl cornerback off waivers earlier this week, according to NFL Network.
With the transfer, the franchise will retain his rights, making Slay ineligible to be part of another staff.
Slay, who was launched by the Steelers earlier this week, needed some time to make a choice on his NFL future, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

“Slay is honored that a first-class organization like the Bills claimed him, but he is going to take some time away from football right now and decide in the next few days if he wants to keep playing,” Rosenhaus told ESPN.
The NFL veteran elaborated additional on “The Speakeasy” with Emmanuel Acho.
“I don’t feel like packing up and moving again,” Slay said. “I’m 13 years in, like, I done did it. [If] they would have caught me at like 28, 29, I might have been like ‘OK.’ That’s a top organization. They have a lot of great things going. They win, they go to the playoffs, they got a franchise quarterback. So, it wasn’t a bad fit. It just caught me at a bad time.”
