Erika Kirk, the wife of political commentator Charlie Kirk, made an emotional tribute to her deceased husband, who was killed by a sniper during an event in Utah.

Going live from Turning Point USA’s social media channel, Erica Kirk, dressed in a white jacket and black shirt, addressed her husband’s death to his thousands and thousands of followers. Throughout her broadcast, Erika repeatedly repeated how a lot her husband beloved the U.S. and his religion.

At one level, Erika condemned the “evil world” that took her husband. “You have no idea what you have just unleashed across this entire country,” she said.

“You have no idea the fire you ignited within this wife,” she added.”The cries of this widow will echo around this world like a battle cry.”

Kirk was a household man, married to real estate agent Erika Frantzve, with whom he shared two kids, a daughter and a son. Kirk and his wife met in 2019 before going on to marry in May 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Two weeks before his death, Frantzve described her husband as a “freedom fighter.” Taking to social media, “On days like today when the skies erupt in red, white, and blue and the air hums with the sound of freedom, I find myself especially grateful for the man I call my husband.”

“I love how much he loves this country,” she added. “He believes that the freedoms we celebrate today are worth defending every day.”

Frantzve also addressed her late husband’s critics. “And while you may not agree with every word he says, I hope you can still be stirred by the fact that he can say them,” she wrote.

Shooter recognized 

It was announced Saturday that Kirk’s killer was allegedly recognized as 22-year-old Tyler Robinsion, who fired a single sniper’s bullet into the throat of Kirk. In the confusion of the taking pictures, the suspect then slipped away from the chaos, screaming as college students fled the campus.

The New York Post reported that Robinson is a local from Washington, Utah, about 260 miles south of where Kirk was shot in Orem. Robinson confessed to his father, a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, according to the Daily Mail.

His father contacted the authorities and secured his son before he was detained. The 22-year-old has two youthful brothers, according to his dad and mom’ social media

Shortly after the assault, Kirk’s nonprofit group, Turning Point USA, issued a assertion.”It is with a heavy heart that we confirm that Charles James Kirk has been murdered by a gunshot that took place during Turning Point USA’s ‘The American Comeback Tour’ campus event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025,” the assertion read.

“May he be received into the merciful arms of our loving Savior, who suffered and died for Charlie,” it added. “We ask that everyone keep his family and loved ones in your prayers,” they added. “We ask that you please respect their privacy and dignity at this time.

An update from President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform confirmed that Kirk has passed away after being shot in the neck. He wrote, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is lifeless.

“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” he added. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Eyewitness account

Several eyewitnesses to the event recounted the chilling second when the political commentator was shot. Emma Pitts, a reporter for Deseret News in Utah, shared with GWN, “It felt like so much blood came out of his neck immediately.”

Suddenly, gunfire erupted and Kirk was hit in the neck, inflicting him to jolt ahead as blood spurted out. In the following chaos, college students fled in panic.

“You hear the gunshot and then you see Charlie go limp, he turned, and we saw blood immediately,” said Emma. “Both of our perspectives were that he was shot in the neck … And then we all took to the ground.”
