David Muir fans warn him to be careful after | TV Shows

David Muir’s latest segment on ABC World News Tonight had viewers worried as they warned him to “be careful”.

After a shock departure and a chaotic period leaving him “in denial,” the 51-year-old host is back in the face of havoc and has been reporting from the thick of the catastrophe that was the Texas floods.

Over the weekend, millions of Texas residents feared for their lives as deadly floods ran through the state, killing over a 100 people, including 27 teens at an all-girls camp called Camp Mystic.

Giving viewers an up close look at the tragedy, David flew down to Kerrville, Texas – the town the show has branded as “the epicenter of one of the deadliest U.S. floods in decades”.

While showing the devastating grounds, he also interviewed victims of the flood, like Scott and Juliet Weldon, whose house got torn apart in the midst of the catastrophe.

After his troop had arrived at the scene, they had all decided for Scott to stay on the ground with the campers, in efforts to get more children in one helicopter ride at a time.

He explained, “Yea, we assumed, based on weight, that we could probably take two more kids every trip.”

During his time on site, he witnessed children still in their pajamas still soaked and covered in mud from the rising waters. He specifically recalled the two girls who had been left without shoes.

“At one point, you were carrying two girls with one arm?” David asked.

“Yea, yea. It was one in each arm,” he clarified. “But yea, it was just two little kids like 7 years old. Didn’t have shoes on. I was like ‘Dude, I’m not gonna make you guys walk through this mud while you’re trying to get to a helicopter.’”

Scott had told David he will “never forget” the night he saved those children from Camp Mystic.
