Distraught Savannah Guthrie Addresses Ransom Note

As one may think, when a cherished one goes lacking, each day that goes by without realizing they’re okay and/or what occurred is agonizing, and leads to an elevated sense of desperation and helplessness the longer time goes on.

With the case of lacking Arizona mom and grandmother, Nancy Guthrie, now into its fourth day, and with the household seemingly no nearer to having any solutions as to the 84-year-old’s whereabouts and well-being, the panic has clearly intensified amid statements from Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos that he believes Mrs. Guthrie could have been kidnapped as she was sleeping, and amid reviews of a substance that regarded like blood being discovered on the walkway close to her entrance door.

The kids of Mrs. Guthrie – daughter Annie, son Camron, and daughter Savannah, who is the co-host of the NBC News “Today Show” – launched an emotional video Wednesday evening, which was posted to Savannah’s Instagram account, where they talked about what a vibrant gentle their mom was, describing her as the “beacon” of the household and a strong girl of religion:

“Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light. She’s funny, spunky, and clever. She has grandchildren that adore her and crowd around her, and cuddle her with kisses,” the siblings’ message continued.

Annie echoed her sister’s sentiments, including that the “light is missing” from their household’s lives without their mom.

“Nancy is our mother. We are her children, she is our beacon. She holds fast to joy in all of life’s circumstances. She chooses joy day after day. Despite having already passed through great trials of pain and grief,” she said, as Savannah tearfully held her head down.

Savannah Guthrie also talked about her mother’s health points, noting that “her heart is fragile” and that she is “in constant pain,” and wants her medicines to live. She also addressed reviews of a ransom word despatched to a local Arizona TV station, saying the household was “ready to talk” but needed stable proof that Nancy Guthrie was alive:

We, too, have heard the reviews about a ransom letter in the media. As a household we’re doing every little thing that we will. We are prepared to speak,” Savannah said.

Addressing the purported kidnapper, she added: “However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know — without a doubt — that she is alive, and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen.”

As of this writing, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office has not publicly shared whether or not they consider the ransom word – which reportedly demanded “thousands and thousands” in Bitcoin – is legit, but there was an elevated law enforcement presence at Nancy Guthrie’s home on Wednesday:

As to reviews that Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni (husband to Annie), is a particular person of curiosity or suspect, the sheriff’s workplace had this to say:

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department told GWN on Feb. 4: “We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results.”

An further assertion from the Sheriff’s Department read, “While we appreciate the public’s concern, the sharing of unverified accusations or false information is irresponsible and does not assist the investigation.”
