Actress Elaine Hendrix, who is at the moment on Dancing with the Stars, has opened up about her ongoing recovery after she was hit by a car in 1992

However, since her induction onto the show, Elaine has spoken out about how she manages day to day while recovering from a car accident.
Elaine was hit by a car 33 years in the past while she was using a bike in Los Angeles. She was a dancer at the time, but due to her accidents, had to pivot her profession and grow to be an actor instead.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said, “It’s a roller coaster because I have very real injuries, sustained from a very serious accident and other things that happened in life. So I have good days, and I have challenging days. The thing that we focus on is to do whatever I need to do to make sure show day is a good day.”
Elaine has been partnered with Alan Bersten on Dancing with the Stars, and he has revealed that the actress has an unimaginable work ethic.
“What’s incredible about Elaine is, obviously, she’s putting in a lot of hard work for dancing, but she’s also doing a lot of recovery,” Alan gushed. “And so, even when we’re achieved with rehearsals, she’s still going to bodily therapy and making sure to ice.”

Continuing, he added, “I’m grateful that she loves this so a lot because you possibly can see she’s placing the whole lot into this,” with Elaine noting, “Yeah, I take it severely.”
The Inspector Gadget star also detailed how she felt when she was approached to be a part of Dancing with the Stars, saying her “coronary heart was immediately fluttering.”

Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8pm ET and PT on ABC, with episodes being out there for streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
