Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade shared an update on inflation under the Trump administration, but it maybe did not have the specified impact.

On Wednesday, December 24, the 61-year-old Fox & Friends co-host took to his X, previously Twitter, account to share a message about the U.S. economic system with his followers. Accompanying a clip of his coverage about the subject, which included Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussing the “victories” of 2025, Kilmeade wrote, “U.S. economy grows at fastest pace in 2 years @RiggsReport.”

However, social media customers lit up the feedback part to argue that the nice news on inflation has nothing to do with the president. One particular person wrote, “So who was the president 2 years ago?” While another added, “Damn lie.” A 3rd remarked, “Inflation is not growing.”

The Fox News persona did have assist from some, though, as one particular person penned, “Brian, I worked in a factory in ’75. 2.10 an hour. This is the worth in 2025. And I survived. Spoiled people want 15$ to pour coffee and microwave sandwiches.”

The clip Kilmeade shared featured a snippet of Bessent talking about the economic system during his look on the All-In podcast on Monday.

He said, “I would characterize 2025, we had some important victories, some important policy announcements, some important movement, but as I’ve described it, 2025 was setting the table, especially on the ecomomy, I think the feast and the banquet is going to be in 2026.”

The clip also featured Kilmeade’s coverage of a new report that was launched after Bessent’s interview. “There he is, Monday, before these big numbers came out yesterday.

“The administration predicts financial growth in the new yr and we’re already beginning to see the success. The numbers do not lie. The economic system is hovering. The quickest charge in two years.”

Kilmeade then read out the numbers: 4.3% in GDP, 2.7% in inflation, and $2.85 average gas price.

However, he pointed to a poll that suggested a growing number of Americans have said they’re falling behind. The co-host spoke to Taylor Riggs, host of The Big Money Show, who claimed the economy was booming.

Meanwhile, nearly three-quarters of Americans see the economic conditions as only fair or poor, and more than half disapprove of Trump’s job performance, according to a new Fox News poll.

A poll of 1,001 registered voters conducted between December 12 and 15 found potentially unfavorable signs for Trump, particularly regarding the economy, one of the president’s top priorities.

Overall, 44 percent said they approve of Trump, while 56 percent said they disapprove. On the economy, 39 percent said they approve of his handling, compared with 61 percent who disapprove.

Seventy-two percent rated economic conditions negatively, and 28 percent described conditions as excellent or good. Meanwhile, 44 percent said they are falling behind financially, up from 36 percent in June and around where that figure stood in October 2024.

Last week, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the delayed Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November. They revealed that the 12-month rate of inflation stood at 2.7 percent.

White House spokesperson Kush Desai told Newsweek in an email last week, “President Trump was resoundingly re-elected one yr in the past exactly because he, not like Democrats, understood and acknowledged Joe Biden’s financial catastrophe.

“Turning the page on the Biden inflation and affordability crisis has been a Day One priority for the President, while much work remains, today’s expectation-beating inflation report is the latest proof that the Administration’s robust economic agenda will continue to pay off for everyday Americans.”
