Professional golfer Jane Park stepped away from the game for two years beginning in 2020 to care for her daughter, who was experiencing a sequence of unexplained mind seizures. She made her comeback to aggressive play in 2023, but was compelled to step back once more.

Park’s daughter, Grace, has confronted ongoing medical challenges in latest years. This Saturday, the golfer shared an update on Instagram, revealing that her 5 yr previous is battling pneumonia.

“As you know, Gracie has a BiPAP mask on,” the LPGA skilled explained in her story. “It’s used to help the patient breathe easily when their lungs are struggling. It gently pushes air into the lungs to keep them open and reduce the work of breathing, while providing an airtight seal. It gives the lungs time to rest and heal without needing a breathing tube.

“Last evening she mainly bought waterboarded bc she had the masks on and vomited, raising concern of more fluid getting into her lungs. So that has set her back again.

“The chest X-ray showed more crap in her lungs than the last X-ray. She is also still spiking fevers. Since she has continued to vomit, they put her on IV fluids for nutrition bc her little body hasn’t had formula for 9 days, and without calories, her body is having trouble fighting off the virus.”

Park mentioned the medical interventions her daughter has undergone. “So the team decided to give her a PICC line (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter),” she continued.

“It works by inserting a long, thin tube into a vein in the upper arm and guiding it to a large central vein near the heart, allowing for direct long-term delivery of IV fluids, medications, nutrition, and blood draws without repeated needle sticks. It’s going to allow for more calorie-dense nutrition to get into her system while bypassing the stomach, so we can give her Gl tract a break too.

“The workforce is doing every part they will to strive to keep one step forward of all the issues that are ailing Grace, and they’re doing so expeditiously,” Park wrote.

“The pneumonia itself is not shifting shortly, though. We are hoping she’s going to get some of her strength back from the IV fluids so her physique can start preventing back. There are so many shifting elements to her care proper now. A picc line infection might imply the worst of the worst, but I’m making an attempt not to assume about that. We are in right here for an indefinite quantity of time….Think blissful ideas.”

Park, 39, joined the LPGA tour in 2017. Her strongest efficiency in a major match got here in 2015, when she positioned fifth at the US Open.
