Im A Celebs Lisa Riley received special meals in camp | UK News
Lisa Riley grew to become the eighth star to be eradicated from the I’m A Celebrity jungle in a brutal double eviction alongside TV character, Jack Osbourne. Throughout her journey on the ITV sequence, the Emmerdale actress has been open about her exceptional weight loss, having shed over 10 stone in 2016. The following 12 months, Lisa also underwent surgical procedure to take away extra pores and skin, which was filmed for her candid ITV documentary, Lisa Riley’s Baggy Body Club.
After leaving the gruelling Australian wilderness, the 49-year-old has opened up about her expertise and revealed she misplaced a whopping stone and a half after a brutal diet of rice and beans. Lisa also shared that she was supplied with “special meals” in camp because she is a vegetarian. In addition to her dishes being padded with additional rice, the actress also missed out on making an attempt the jungle delicacies, such as crocodile or eels.
Instead, Lisa revealed she was given animal-free options during dinner instances. She said to the MailOnline: “I’m so fortunate. I had things like Quorn chicken strips, Quorn mince, tempeh, never again, and tofu. At the start, when I was cooking, I used to boil it
“Now I realise you’ve got to pan-fry it. So when Martin [Kemp] took over my tofu preparation, it was scrumptious. When I was doing it, it was rubbish.” But, after virtually three weeks in the jungle, the star gladly admitted she would never need to see rice again.
She chuckled: “For me, because I’m vegetarian, my veggie meal was always padded out with more rice. Anyway, do I fancy seeing rice again? No thanks. Rice and I are done.”
As for her staggering jungle weight loss, Lisa added that portion control and a demanding daily routine also contributed. The actress explained to the publication: “Do you know what it is? It’s portion control. Everyone says, ‘Oh, it’s beans and rice.’ Yes, it is beans and rice, but it’s actually what you consume.
“When you’re in there, people don’t have an idea of the lifestyle, the geography of the camp. It’s the do-ability, the activeness. Like, when you go up to the [Bush] Telegraph to talk, it’s step after step. When you go to a challenge, you never stop moving. It’s endless.”
Lisa identified: “It’s not just sitting around a campfire having loads of giggles. The activeness… by the time you’ve consumed the beans at night, you’ve probably burned it off.”
The I’m a Celebrity live last airs tonight (December 7) from 9pm on ITV1, or catch up on ITVX.
