Millionaire Hotseat host Jeremy Clarkson made a savage swipe at a fan who claimed Brexit was to blame for the struggles confronted by British farms. The heated social media exchange on X got here after the 65-year-old Clarkson’s Farm star responded to feedback on a video he filmed for farming marketing campaign group No Farmers, No Food. In the clip, which was filmed on his telephone, Jeremy expounded what he needs the federal government to do for farmers. “I’m Jeremy Clarkson,” he said, “and in the next Parliament I’d like to see the Government prioritising farming. We’ve been asked to diversify and when we try to do that, the local authorities tell us we can’t and that needs addressing,” he insisted.

One consumer of the platform commented: “Please join Reform. You could be their advisor/intermediate between Farmers on Farming and what they need.” This led a second to opine: “The former Brexit party is the reason why most farms are struggling. They lost subsidies from the EU and it’s now cheaper for most shops to buy from the EU then domestically.”

Jeremy was not impressed with this argument and clapped back: “Oh dear. You don’t seem to have grasp of reality.”

Fans had been impressed with the response, even calling for Jeremy to transfer into politics. “Farmers are the most important people. Without them we starve,” one penned. “Stand for council,” another added. A 3rd chimed in: “Jeremy Clarkson for agricultural minister.”

A fourth commented: “Double edged sword. They tell you to diversify, but tie your hands so you can’t.”

Meanwhile, a fifth wrote: “What I don’t understand is… why is it okay for one set of people, to tell another set of people, what they can and cannot grow or build on own land?”

No Farmers, No Food is a farming advocacy marketing campaign based by media commentator James Melville, who grew up on a household farm in Scotland. The social media account is run by 20 farmers from across the UK and advocates for honest pay, sustainable apply and authorities insurance policies to keep the industry steady.

It options videos and quotes from quite a few well-known faces speaking about farming, including Jeremy, David Beckham and Saturday Kitchen’s James Martin.

Despite partaking with commentators on the positioning, Jeremy not too long ago distanced himself from the group. On his own social media profiles he wrote he has “nothing to do with the account” after he was related with an incorrect quote shared by the web page. 

However he has remained a distinguished supporter of British farmers and farming on his own social media, telling followers that the pub he runs, The Farmer’s Dog, “backs British farming all the way”.
