Good morning, and welcome to RedState’s “Morning Minute” — a temporary glimpse at which tales are trending at the second and a look forward at what the day might carry. Consider this your one-stop store for news to kickstart your day.

German Shop Owner Bans Jews From Store

Signs like Reisch’s revive painful wartime reminiscences for the local Jewish neighborhood. It is unattainable to separate Reisch’s antisemitic signal from Flensburg’s historic connections to the Holocaust.

Trump Explains Why He Thinks ‘Dirty Cop’ James Comey Is Up a Creek Without a Paddle

“Whether you like Corrupt James Comey or not, and I can’t imagine too many people liking him, HE LIED!” Trump wrote. “It is not a complex lie, it’s a very simple, but IMPORTANT one.”

The House Battle May Come Down to the Issues, Which Is Not Good for the Democrats

What I suspect will occur on the Democrat aspect is that the leftist base will push the Trump dictatorship angle, which they’re satisfied – with NO EVIDENCE – is a successful issue, somewhat than the healthcare issue, which is definitely the stronger issue for them.

I’m rooting for the plaintiffs, but I’m also protecting my fingers crossed for a speedy choice that will get this case to SCOTUS as soon as attainable.

How I eliminateed a Leftist Hollywood Movie – And How Conservatives Should Replace It

It’s most likely just the Nineteen Eighties do-it-yourself punk rock child in me, but conservatives need to stop speaking and writing white papers and start supporting the 300 Spartans in the trenches.

Trump’s Latest Move to Prevent a Shutdown Is Brilliant

By forcing their rhetoric about defending employees to collide with their own shutdown brinksmanship, Trump ensures that if the authorities falters, it received’t be Republican voters paying the price—will probably be the Democrats’ own allies in the swamp.

Here’s How Many Plainclothes FBI Agents Were Embedded in the Crowds on January 6

The FBI can’t lie anymore, and they don’t have the media to shield them, as it’s mocked, dismissed, or outright ignored after torching their credibility over the past decade.

Catherine Herridge Thinks THIS Is the (Alleged) Lie That Triggered James Comey’s Indictment

Yep, if Comey goes down, Ted Cruz will deserve a chunk of the credit.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

It’s Friday, and there’s been little or no motion on the authorities funding entrance. The key is the Senate — the House handed a clean CR that funds the authorities through November 21 and is out until Wednesday.

And the query is whether or not Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will stand firm or fold the method he did in March. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and House Democrats are dug in, but their votes are beside the level at the second. And, as famous in Thursday’s Morning Musing, I’m somewhat over it all. (But with the critters out until next week, this is where all the focus stays.)

White House What’s Up

On Thursday, President Donald Trump met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In the afternoon, he signed an govt order concerning TikTok.

On Friday, President Trump heads to Bethpage, New York, to attend the Ryder Cup. He’s due to return to the White House late Friday afternoon. In the meantime, he is been weighing in on the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

Full Court Press…

There had been a number of court choices/developments of notice on Thursday, including:

  • ❌ Federal Education Association v. Trump (difficult termination of collective bargaining agreements), D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a 2-1 ruling, dissolves prior administrative keep of preliminary injunction entered by district court and DENIES admin’s movement for keep pending appeal.
  • ✅ Appalachian Voices v. EPA (difficult EPA’s termination of block grants), Judge Richard Leon (D.C.) DENIES plaintiffs’ movement for injunction pending appeal.
  • ↔️ D.C. v. Trump (difficult president’s/AG’s actions re: home rule), plaintiff voluntarily dismisses case without prejudice.

We’re also ready to see what the Supreme Court does with the utility for keep pending before it in the Lisa Cook (elimination as Fed governor) case. I will not be at all stunned if we see a ruling on that someday today.

And…of course, the big legal news of the day was, as famous above, the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey on two counts (obstruction and making a false assertion).

COMING ATTRACTIONS

As talked about above, look for a SCOTUS ruling on the Lisa Cook case. I’ve a sneaking suspicion we’ll see that later today.

And, of course, next week will likely be all about Shutdown! Shutdown! Shutdown!

MORNING MUSING

At 6’8″, Jim Comey can’t help but be above it all — literally. And throughout his public tenure, he’s carefully curated an air of above-it-allness — one which seemingly worked for a time. But that act wore thin and, in recent months, we’ve been treated to middle school mean girl Jim, who thinks it’s cute to send not-so-vaguely threatening messages via seashell arrangements.

“No one is above the law” turned a well-liked chorus when then-former President Trump was being prosecuted under novel legal theories and sued compliments of specifically reworked statutes of limitations. Indeed, they aren’t — not even presidents/former presidents, despite a pretty expansive immunity umbrella.

Nor is Jim Comey, despite his uncommon top and his above-it-all air.

Now, I do agree with him on one factor: Let’s have a trial. Let prosecutors do their factor and show up their case. Let Comey current a protection. (Wonder who’ll be representing him?) Let truthful and neutral jurors resolve his destiny. He’s due his course of (as are all).

But he is not above the law.

LIGHTER FARE

Now that’s chillaxin‘!
