Ronnie Platt is on the mend after present process surgical procedure for thyroid cancer.
The Kansas frontman shared an encouraging update Tuesday, revealing he’s back home recovering and feeling properly after the outpatient process.
The surgical procedure got here simply over two weeks after he publicly introduced his analysis.
“I am home! The doctor said my surgery couldn’t have gone any better!!!” Platt, 65, wrote in a Facebook post.
“I felt the power of everyone’s prayers and positive energy! You all have helped me through this, how do I? Or can I? Ever thank all of you for that!!!????”
Platt, who took over as Kansas’ lead singer in 2014, mentioned he’s wanting to return to performing.
“I am looking forward to getting back to what I do best! Yes, singing, but my true job is entertaining you all and helping you at least for a couple hours forget about your problems and recharge your batteries. I take a lot of pride in that!!!! Thank you all again, CARRY ON!!!!”
The Chicago native first disclosed his analysis on February 15, explaining that whereas he had thyroid cancer, the prognosis was extremely in his favor.
“For all of you asking, Tuesday I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer but before everyone gets all excited, it has a 99% survival rate, it has not spread,” he wrote.
“It’s contained to my thyroid. I just have to have my thyroid removed. Go through some rehab time and be right back in the saddle.”

Five days after his analysis, Platt assured followers that medical doctors have been optimistic about his therapy and restoration.
“So far, the prognosis has been very good,” he wrote on February 20.
“I’m looking forward to getting this behind me and being back in the saddle as soon as possible. I appreciate the outpouring of support I’ve been receiving.”
Assistant band supervisor J.R. Rees mentioned that he was optimistic in regards to the scenario.
“Our goal is to be back on the road as soon as possible,” Rees instructed Ultimate Classic Rock. “Right now, we’re all focused on supporting Ronnie through this.”
Kansas has been touring for his or her fiftieth anniversary celebration, Another Fork In The Road, with dates scheduled via November 2025.
