Kirstie Allsopp says Charles is not just living with | UK News

Kirstie Allsopp penned a heartfelt assertion as the Location Location Location presenter was flooded with messages of help. In a televised speech as half of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer marketing campaign King Charles addressed the nation. The royal shared “good news” about his cancer, saying in a personal message that early diagnosis and “effective intervention” means his treatment might be decreased in the new 12 months.

The King said: “This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testimony to the remarkable advances that have been made in cancer care.” This is the most current update on the King’s health since he revealed his diagnosis in February 2024.

Kirstie, 54, addressed the King’s latest message as her remark part was flooded with messages as she addressed his health woes.

Taking to X on Saturday, she penned: “The King is not just living with cancer, he is working with cancer.

“His fixed devotion to supporting & selling 1000’s of sensible organisations & charities and representing our nation has never stopped, he is an inspiration for many people impacted by cancer.”

Her 427,000 followers flocked to comment on the post with some divided over her statement.

One person remarked: “That’s true. And it’s also true to say that it’s demotivating for others. He has help (cooks, cleaners, valets, chauffeurs, personal secretaries and many others). Most received’t. His help employees help keep him working. There shall be many not in a position to work as they don’t have that help.”

Kirstie replied: “I do know many people with hundreds of love and help who have just collapsed after a cancer diagnosis, it is not all about who has what, a lot of it is angle.”

Another expressed: “Unfair comparability. Most people living with cancer or present process cancer treatment do not have employees to do all the pieces for them or enough money to not fear about paying the payments when they need to take time off work for treatment.”

Kirstie commented: “I’m not making any comparisons to anybody. I’m just mentioning that he is getting on with issues.”

Others defended the Channel 4 presenter’s sentiment after she branded Charles an “inspiration”.

A social media user said: “It’s great to hear any optimistic tales. Hope he makes a full recovery.”

Another added: “It was such a fantastic factor to encourage people to take a take a look at if they’d symptoms. Our King is the best of males!”

King Charles’s type of cancer has not been identified and treatment and monitoring will continue, but he said: “Early diagnosis fairly merely saves lives.”

According to Buckingham Palace, the King’s recovery has reached a very positive stage and he has “responded exceptionally nicely to treatment”, so much so that doctors will now move his treatment “into a precautionary section”.

The regularity of treatment is going to be significantly reduced – but the King, 77, is not described as being in remission or “cured”.
