Olympics, and a Happy Ending for Some Neglected | Political News

The winter Olympics are coming up… someplace. I’m not a big fan of the Olympics, ever since I came upon what a short shrift they provide the capturing sports activities, every time. But that doesn’t imply I don’t perceive what a big deal it’s for an athlete to get to compete.

The United States Olympic ski group members have been picked, and what have you learnt, half of them are (or had been) from Alaska.

Among the 16 names headed to Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, next month for the twenty fifth Winter Olympic Games, eight are either from Alaska or have Alaska ties.

The males’s Alaska skier listing consists of:

  • Gus Schumacher from Anchorage
  • James “JC” Schoonmaker from Anchorage
  • Hunter Wonders from Anchorage
  • Zanden McMullen from Anchorage

The girls’s Alaska skier listing consists of:

  • Rosie Brennan from Anchorage
  • Kendall Kramer from Fairbanks
  • Novie McCabe from Anchorage
  • Hailey Swirbul from Anchorage

The two-week Winter Olympic video games are set to start Feb. 6.

That’s a big deal! Good for all of these people, could they be an instance for potential younger athletes from Alaska and all over the place else in America.

Alaska Man rating: 5 moose nuggets. We’ll be cheering them on.

Also, some dangerous news, and some good news; not long in the past, 150 animals had been rescued from an ongoing neglect case. The dangerous news is that this occurred in the first place, of course, and also that the Anchorage Animal Shelter is now full and can’t take in any more critters. The good news is that these animals are no longer uncared for.

At least 150 small animals had been seized on Thursday, forcing the Anchorage Animal Shelter to stop accepting any new animals.

Anchorage Animal Care & Control posted on social media about an ongoing neglect case that resulted in 150 rabbits, roosters and hens being seized and put in protecting custody in an animal shelter.

AACC didn’t specify the deal with where the animals had been discovered; only that it was in Anchorage.

Due to the case, AACC said that they can not take in any more small animals. They are asking the overall public to close small animal traps and to go away strays where they’re for now. They instead ask people to take strays to see if they are often scanned for a microchip and strive and find the proprietor.

“We are still accepting stray cats and dogs, but this event has impacted all available kennel space,” the AACC said.

The shelter is encouraging local people who might want a pet to help out by opening their houses to these animals. There’s no indication as to whether or not the hens could also be in any condition to produce eggs. But the critters are protected, for now, and that’s a good factor.

And, what the heck is fallacious with people? 150 rabbits, chickens, and roosters? People who keep animals as stock don’t neglect them, as a rule. They are precious. I suspect there’s some mental sickness concerned right here.

Alaska Man rating: 5 moose nuggets for the Anchorage Animal Shelter. For the previous house owners of these poor critters, no moose nuggets, although I’d be keen to offer a good swift kick in the keister.

Now, watch as I enter into a spate of free affiliation rambling about names. Yes, actually.
