Phil Mickelsons feelings clear on Charlie Kirk | Golf News

Phil Mickelson used only three phrases to describe a second during Charlie Kirk’s memorial, which befell inside State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals.

Mickelson was one of many athletes who paid tribute to the 31-year-old conservative pundit after he was killed on Sept. 10 while talking at Utah Valley University. Alongside the LIV Golf star was Kai Trump, Dave Portnoy and Harrison Butker, among others, who posted in the wake of Kirk’s death.

With Kirk’s memorial service going down in Arizona, the 55-year-old took to social media to ship a fast message to those in attendance. It also was reported that security at the event was slated to have “Super Bowl level” security with Donald Trump attending.

On X, Mickelson reposted a clip from actor James Woods, who was at the stadium, displaying the group before the start of the service, with the caption: “Celebrating the life of a true American hero. Charlie Kirk was someone who truly transformed America in every good way imaginable.”

In response, the golf star wrote: “Incredible and inspiring.”

This is just not the first time Mickelson has posted a message relating to Kirk. In the aftermath of the pundit’s death, the star posted a message on X calling for discussions to be humane and not devolved into violence, which he insinuated was what led to the taking pictures.

“I never met Charlie Kirk but I am gutted by this atrocity. Open debate is healthy and essential,” the 55-year-old wrote on X.

“Free speech is a constitutional right. Violence for disagreeing with someone is sick, deranged, and creates a greater division that becomes harder to overcome.”

Mickelson’s authentic message got here roughly around the same time Trump announced that Kirk had died. Taking to his Truth Social platform, the president wrote to his followers: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead.

“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was cherished and admired by ALL, particularly me, and now, he’s no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies exit to his stunning spouse Erika, and household. Charlie, we love you!”

Then, during a Pentagon event commemorating the victims of 9/11, Trump added: “Before we start, let me categorical the horror and grief so many Americans at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk have felt.

“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people. Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, Erika, and his beautiful children.”
