Kid Rock has been called “repulsive” over lyrics in his 2001 song Cool, Daddy Cool in which he speaks about younger girls and declares he “likes ’em underage.”
The song consists of lyrics such as, “Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see / Some say that’s statutory (But I say it’s mandatory).” The “It’s mandatory” half of the song was said by Joe-C, who died in November 2000 due to problems from celiac disease.
Other lyrics featured in the song embrace, “You know I got that gangsta lean / Hoes, they all adore me, I stop and they all swarm me / To check out all my fly gold rings / They treat me like the mayor ’cause I’m the biggest player.”
Cool, Daddy Cool was launched in 2001 as half of the soundtrack for the animated kids’s film Osmosis Jones, which starred Bill Murray and Chris Rock.
The song has been shared on social media, with critics on X slamming Kid Rock. “Not a good look…” one individual posted alongside a screengrab of the song’s lyrics.
“MAGA has to be the greatest living contradiction of a political party,” another person said following Kid Rock’s help of President Donald Trump.
A 3rd critic admitted, “And with that pic & those lyrics, I just threw up in my mouth,” as another person hit out, writing, “This is repulsive.”
Another individual shared on X, “Fun Fact: Kid Rock once literally sang “I like ’em underage” — including on a song tied to a kids’ movie soundtrack — but MAGA is upset about Bad Bunny because he speaks Spanish.”
Kid Rock’s previous song has gone viral forward of his efficiency at Turning Point USA’s various Super Bowl halftime show, dubbed The All-American Halftime Show, on Sunday, February 8.
The 55-year-old shall be joined by Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett at the event, which was announced after right-wing viewers vowed to boycott Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s headlining efficiency at the Super Bowl.
