A oil tanker that is believed to be aside of Russia’s shadow fleet was reportedly hit by a suspected Ukrainan drone assault in the Black Sea.
The oil tanker Elbus was seen with thick black smoke coming from its deck as it sailed practically 30 miles off the coast of Turkey.

Turkish broadcaster NTV confirmed the assault, reporting “The Elbus oil tanker, crusing roughly 30 miles off the coast of Abana district in Kastamonu, was hit in its higher sections during a drone assault.”
“Following a distress call from the ship, which is believed to have been the target of a drone attack, Coast Guard Command teams were dispatched to the area,” it added.
It had sailed from Singapore and passed through the Bosphorus a few days ago.
This alleged drone strike comes just a day after U.S. forces has seized control of the Russian-flagged U.S. sanctioned oil tanker BELLA-1 (MARINERA).
The tanker has evaded U.S. sanctions on Iran, Russia, and Venezuela, and the U.S. has sought after the boat since the end of December.
U.S. officals who spoke on condition of anominity told new retailers that the operation is was carried out by the Coast Guard and U.S. army.
They added that Russian army vessels had been in the overall neighborhood when the operation befell, including a Russian submarine.
