President Donald Trump addressed the Wednesday capturing in Minneapolis, in which a lady was shot in the face by an ICE agent, in a post on his Truth Social account.
Trump said he has “viewed the clip” of the incident and called the deceased lady “a professional agitator”, including that “it is hard to believe he is alive,” referring to the ICE officer injured.
“The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and hostility!” Trump added.
“The woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defence,” Trump wrote.
However, videos from the scene show the girl apparently backed away from ICE officers as they approached the car, and tried to open her door. As the drive moved ahead and away from the officers, another ICE officer fired his gun as the car appeared to drive by him. The 37-year-old lady was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The state’s lieutenant governor, Peggy Flanagan, called for federal immigration officers to depart Minnesota “immediately.”
Tim Walz, Minnesota governor, slammed the Department of Homeland Security’s justification of the shooting. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that federal agents were acting out of self-defense. Walz pushed back and wrote on his social media that he had seen the video. “Don’t believe this propaganda machine.”
“The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice.”
