Stephen Colbert launches into rant against Trumps | TV Shows

Stephen Colbert did not maintain back while addressing Donald Trump’s latest renovations to the White House.

During his show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 61-year-old addressed the new ballroom Trump is building in the East Wing of the White House. He told the digital camera, “I welcome you back to coverage of Trump-Smash-25.”

“This week on Trump-Smash, what Trump Smash is East Wing of White House. Why? Why Trump Smash? For his ridiculous ballroom. As of this morning, the east wing looked like a rotisserie chicken your dog got into,” he continued as a picture was shown of the White House’s East Wing being destroyed.

“That is very upsetting to look at, I realize that, and you know the administration knows that,” Stephen said before explaining that the Secret Service closed half of a public park so journalists could not take pictures of the project.

Stephen added, “That makes sense. If none of it is on camera, they can just claim the east wing hanged itself in prison.” His fast quip was a reference to Jeffrey Epstein, who hung himself in his jail cell. Lots of conspiracy theorists consider he didn’t kill himself.

He also acknowledged that the ballroom would only price $200 million, paid for by Trump himself and personal buyers. But the quantity has risen in current days, with the price tag now sitting at $300 million. Trump still claims no taxpayer money will probably be used to pay for the renovation.

Trump allowed the demolition to start this week despite not yet having approval from the related authorities companies with jurisdiction over construction on federal property, and has confronted criticism for his resolution, with many referring to him as “Marie Antoinette.”
