Texas attorney general launches investigation into | Political News

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will examine North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Dallas Independent School District and Manor Independent School District, over pupil protests against immigration enforcement.

“I will not allow Texas schools to become breeding grounds for the radical Left’s open borders agenda,” said Paxton. “Let this serve as a warning to any public school official or employee who unlawfully facilitates student participation in protests targeting our heroic law enforcement officers: my office will use every legal tool available to hold you accountable.”

The attorney’s workplace needs information from each district, such as insurance policies on permitting college students to go away campus, excused absence insurance policies, security protocols of the ISD and inner communications concerning the protests. The workplace will also look into the use of public funds and whether or not legal guidelines have been violated.

Hundreds of Texas college students walked out earlier this 12 months protesting against immigration enforcement who have killed U.S residents like Renee Good and Alex Pretti from Minnesota and detained 5-year-old Liam Conejo too. In the protests, college students have called to dismantle ICE.

The Texas Education Agency said in a press release earlier this month that districts discovered to have facilitated walkouts may face state intervention.

Meanwhile the state’s Gov. Greg Abbott said districts may lose funding and college students discovered breaking the law during protests may face arrest.

“It’s about time students like this were arrested. Harming someone is a crime — even for students. Disruptive walkouts allowed by schools lead to just this kind of chaos. Schools and staff who allow this behavior should be treated as co-conspirators and should not be immune for criminal behavior. We are also looking into stripping the funding of schools that abandon their duty to teach our kids the curriculum required by law.” Abbott said in a X posting on Feb. 3.

Abbott had posted a news clip that confirmed Kyle police arrested two juveniles during a faculty walkout. The police clarified those arrests and fees have been unrelated to the protest on Feb. 3.

Police charged one juvenile with assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, interfering with public duties and was discovered having consumption and possession of alcohol by a minor. The second juvenile was charged after resisting arrest and interfering with public duties.

Police said one juvenile was charged with assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, interfering with public duties, consumption and possession of alcohol by a minor. The other juvenile was charged with resisting arrest and interfering with public duties.
