The View’s Sunny Hostin slammed Donald Trump and likened him to a “mob boss” while discussing the president’s latest demand that the Justice Department pay him $230 million in damages.

Trump is looking for a payout after past federal investigations against him, which coincidentally is around the same quantity that the new White House ballroom is projected to value. He claims he’ll donate the money to charity or return it to the White House.

There have been moral issues about the demand, particularly since the division officers who must log off on the payout are the same legal professionals who defended him during the investigation.

Sunny weighed in on the demand, saying, “I think we need to speak plainly to people, and I think we need to call it what it is. This is giving mob boss. That’s what this is. He is extorting and looting the federal government.”

Fellow host Joy Behar chimed in, “Let’s call them the ‘Capo Di Tutto Grifters.'”

Construction started this week at the White House on Trump’s 90,000-square-foot ballroom, which he has said might be funded by exterior donations, not authorities funds or taxpayer money.

Now, the president is demanding $230 million in damages from the Department of Justice stemming from a federal investigation against him, which Whoopi Goldberg called a “cash grab.”

Sunny fumed, “How about the fact that our tax dollars now, if he gets the $230 million, are going to be used to renovate a white house, which by the way, he never intends to leave.”

She went on to say, “That’s what this is. This is about a mob boss extorting the government for his own personal gratification and enrichment, and we are basically as taxpayers providing Trump and his family a lifestyle that he otherwise couldn’t afford.”

Even Alyssa Farah Griffin, who labored carefully with Donald Trump in the past, is skeptical about the president’s motivations. “Yeah, it’s not giving ‘America first,'” she said. “You’re using taxpayer dollars to enrich yourself, or maybe you’re giving it to charity or the white house. Focus on the people.”

She added, “It just feels completely out of touch,” citing the struggles people are going through, particularly federal employees, amid the federal government shutdown.

If accredited, Trump might be seeing an unprecedented $230 million payout, nearly the precise quantity needed to pay for his lavish ballroom. The president claims he would donate the funds to charity, which Joy had a scathing response to, asking, “And what charity is it? The Foundation for the Destruction of America?”

The construction project sparked outrage after photos confirmed a portion of the East Wing demolished, contradicting his past guarantees that the White House wouldn’t be affected by the building of the ballroom.
